A Lucky Man

by Steve

I’ve got a boat parked out by the pine,
She don’t leave often, but she sure feels fine.
When we take her out and the salt spray flies,
That time’s worth more than money can buy.

I’ve got all I could wish for,
A lucky man, they say;
It’s a beautiful life
When you live like José.

II’ve got a house where the red dirt roads bend,
Out in the country, where time feels like a long lost friend.
When we roll in and the porch lights glow,
It feels like home, no matter how long I go

I’ve got all I could wish for,
A lucky man, they say;
It’s a beautiful life
When you live like José.

I’ve got an office with awards on the wall,
It’s polished and proud, makes me stand tall.
But when I’m stuck in another long call,
I’m dreaming of the boat, the woods, and fall.

I’ve got all I could wish for,
A lucky man, they say;
It’s a beautiful life
When you live like José.

I’ve got a family—my greatest win,
Three daughters, a son, and love again.
When we’re together, everything’s alright,
Pancakes in the morning, prayers at night.

I’ve got all I could wish for,
A lucky man, they say;
It’s a beautiful life
When you live like José.
